Who we are

We are one of a number of Christian Churches in the Richmond area.

Since 1989, Church of the Living God has been established as an independent Full Gospel Church. We are associated with Churches in Germany, India, Canada and the USA.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and as such stands above every other word or thought. Therefore it plays a central part in our Church life, and we have a fairly strong emphasis on biblical teaching. This is how we are trained to be effective disciples of Jesus Christ.

Our Sunday morning meeting includes songs of praise and worship, both corporate and individual, a prayer time, opportunities for people to share the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and a time of teaching.

We believe that our Lord commanded that we should regularly partake of Communion, and so we do.

We encourage all believers to be baptised in water, and be baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit, as Jesus commanded.

What We Believe

  • THE BIBLE is the inspired, infallible and authoritative written Word of God.

  • There is ONE GOD, eternally existent in three Persons:

    • God the Father

    • God the Son

    • God the Holy Spirit

  • In the Deity of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule.

  • Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and that there is no other way to the Father but by coming through Jesus.

  • In the BLESSED HOPE - the rapture of the Church at Christ's Second Coming.

  • The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST

  • That every believer must be BAPTISED in water, in the Name of Jesus Christ, as commanded in the Scriptures.

  • Regeneration by the HOLY SPIRIT is essential for personal salvation.

  • The redemptive work of Christ on THE CROSS provides healing for the body in response to believing prayer.

  • The BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it, with the evidence of "speaking in tongues" and the subsequent gifts of the Holy Spirit.

  • In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is able to live a HOLY LIFE.

  • In the RESURRECTION of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life, and the other to everlasting damnation.

  • That Jesus Christ commissioned the Church to MAKE DISCIPLES, and we do so using biblical examples through the effective TEACHING OF THE SCRIPTURES
